When Lexy and I first met I was out in Palm Springs to celebrate a friend’s birthday.  We were sitting upstairs near the bar when a group of girls walked by our table which prompted two of my friends to get up and ask for them to take a picture of our group despite my pleads against this.  After the picture was taken I first saw Lexy and I thought she was the most beautiful girl I had ever seen and I had to go up to her and let her know that very fact. She seemed fairly uninterested at first so I clearly thought I had blown my chances of ever getting to know her.  The guys and I proceeded to go back to the table and continue imbibing in the drinks we had in front of us before heading out onto the dance floor. As we moved our way onto the dance floor our dance moves proved that this is where we belonged.

Before long I made eye contact with Lexy and waved and smiled at her.  She responded similarly which cued me to ask my friend if I should give it one more shot.  He replied that “I was already in” so I risked it all and went in. Clearly impressed with my dance moves we enjoyed a song or two dancing together before making our way to a quieter place at the bar where we could have a conversation and get to know each other.  Much to my dismay I was extremely nervous and was having trouble formulating sentences because I was obviously awestruck with her beauty. We ended up talking and dancing all night to a cover band playing hits from artists from our childhood. I like to say that I fell in love with her the moment I saw her and have loved her more every day since that night but Lexy is more practical and realist than me and says we have fallen in love over our time together.
